Lemon Sesame Roasted Broccoli

Ingredients

1 head broccoli

Juice of 1 lemon

1tbsp extra virgin olive oil (or melted coconut oil or ghee)

3tbsp white sesame seeds

Optional: Pinch of cayenne pepper 

 

Method

  • Pre-heat oven to 180 degrees celcius and line a baking tray with baking paper.

  • Chop broccoli into florets leaving the stalks long. Place florets into a mixing bowl and drizzle in lemon juice and olive oil. Mix broccoli into the juices so that all are covered. Pour over sesame seeds and mix again to cover.

  • Place broccoli onto the baking tray and evenly spead around so they form a single layer.

  • Bake for roughly 20 mins until the edges are golden brown/a little bit charred. Depending on your oven temperature, you may need a little more or less.

 

Delicious paired with some baked salmon, chicken breast, poached eggs, crusted sardines, sweet potato mash, used as the "chip" to your favourite dip. A very versatile side dish! Enjoy!
